The Old Queens Head is located just under a ten minute walk from Angel Station and offers club nights and pub quizzes on a regular basis as well as some very tasty food. The décor is country pub meets cool club with neon signs and animal heads mounted on the walls – it’s a very attractive and ornate pub with lots of comfy sofas and tables.
After loving their Lucky Chip offering, we visited on Sunday to try out their roast menu and weren’t disappointed! We each had a roast, trying out the 32 Day Aged Longhorn Beef with Marrow Gravy and the Mushroom Wellington with Vegetable Gravy served with potatoes, carrots, parsnips, seasonal greens and a Yorkshire pudding. The beef was well cooked and the mushroom wellington was a lovely veggie option – better than a boring nut roast! The veggies were all cooked perfectly and well-seasoned and the potatoes and Yorkshire puddings were great. The portions were big and the food came out really quickly!
A good spot in North London for a very tasty and filling roast and at only £15.50 for the beef or £12.50 for the mushroom – good value for money!
