Bar in Hoxton Square

This bar in Hoxton Square has been open since 2001 and is still going strong today!  The bar has a warehouse vibe with three different rooms – the main bar, the club room and the Green room, which also has a large terrace area.

The main bar area is expansive and a great place to chill during the week and then party at the weekend when the crowds spill into the Club room.

With happy hour running from 5-7pm every day with 241 cocktails, it is hard to resist. We tried the Simply the Zest with Portobello Road Gin, Cointreau and Lemon infused Darjeeling Tea (£9) and the Zubrowka Passion with Vodka, Lemon, Passionfruit and Apple (£9). The cocktails sadly weren’t my bag – both were a little over-diluted. They have  tons of other cocktails on the 241 offer so will choose differently next time!

Orange Buffalo

The food residency at this lovely bar in Hoxton Square serves up New York Style Buffalo Chicken Wings. Wow, I was impressed! We obviously had to try some of the wings served with celery and blue cheese dip. To my delight you could go half and half with two sauces so we opted for the Original tangy version of the American classic with dutch chillies and the Woof Woof: scotch bonnets, dutch chillies and a hint of Naga (£8). If you love your spice, definitely opt for the Woof Woof which had a real kick. If you are SUPER brave, go for The Viper!!

We also tried the Buffalo Chicken: Tender Breaded Chicken Thigh, your choice of hot sauce,  melted cheese, blue cheese dressing, crisp lettuce & toasted potato bun (£8.50). This is without a doubt one of the best chicken burgers I have eaten. The sauce was just so delicious, the chicken was tender and the crunch was awesome. Absolute perfection!

On the side, we could not resist the Sweet Potato criss cross fries (£4.00) and the Buffalo Curly Fries (£5.50) served with hot sauce and blue cheese dip. These portions were HUGE so one is definitely plenty. Also, if you head along for Wing Wednesdays and order 2 baskets of wings, you get 1 free! What an absolute bargain.

Overall

This is a fantastic bar ideally located in Hoxton Square offering a range of activities during the week, club nights, fantastic good and a great happy hour! If you head there on a Monday like we did they host Hoxton Ukulele Hootenanny takes place  for regular Ukers, beginners or anyone who is just Uke curious. You get to play and sing songs and it was a really lovely atmosphere.
