Afternoon Tea in London (on a bus!)
BB Bakery based in Covent Garden came up with an ingenious idea of Afternoon Tea in London on a bus tour! The tours leave from either Northumberland Avenue or Victoria station and you must book a month or two in advance for weekends, especially if you want a seat upstairs!
The tickets aree between £45-50 pp and £10 more if you want to sit right at the front of the bus. You can also bring your own alcohol on board – the website says there is a corkage fee of £5 but we weren’t charged for this.
The tour covers the following destinations and is such a lovely way to see London:
The traditional afternoon tea includes:
- savoury cake with ham
- cucumber and mint finger sandwich
- salmon blinis with cream cheese
- chicken sandwich with tomato bread and vegetable quiche.
There were a variety of cakes including, mini chocolate cupcake, pistachio macaroons, Victoria sponge and creme patisserie. All of this was topped off with scones with clotted cream and jam – my favourite. We asked in advance for sandwiches with no dressing and they were happy to oblige. BB Afternoon Tea also caters for vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and halal diets.
The bus tour was an amazing afternoon tea in London! We had such a wonderful day and the staff on board were very friendly and took as many pictures as possible! An original way to see London and fill yourselves up at the same time.
