100 Restaurants has two restaurants – 100 Hoxton and 100 Kensington. We visited the Hoxton restaurant which is, unsurprisingly, on 100 Hoxton Street!
With a large bar in the middle to visit for a drink and a number of tables inside and outside, Hoxton 100 prides itself in offering a relaxed atmosphere with fantastic sharing plates. The idea is to spend time enjoying your food and really appreciate each dish while its warm so they come out in stages to make your evening more leisurely. If you want them all out at once, just ask!
The menu is split into small appetizers, starters, mains and sides. We were guided through the menu and informed about the dishes with recommendations. We did not have any allergy requirements but were impressed with the separate gluten free, dairy free and vegan menus highlighting what needed to be changed in the dish.
If you after an early dinner, Hoxton 100 offers happy hour cocktails from 4-7pm – 2 for £11 and you get 12 to choose from! This includes the fantastic Aperol Spritz Slush with lemon & grapefruit and side of prosecco and a frozen margarita! I just love being able to find a frozen cocktail in London! Hoxton 100 also offers an early bird menu Monday to Friday before 7pm where you can choose 1 dish from five sections of the menu to share between you (that is plenty!) for only £17.50pp. To make things even more exciting, after 7pm, Hoxton 100 offers two champagne cocktails for £15 so basically happy hour all night!
The menu changes seasonally. We chose the Cauliflower fritters, butternut squash and quinoa salad and Chilli Fried Rice peppers, chinese sausage, prawn sambal, fried egg.
We then continued with the pan fried duck breast, courgette kimchi, cashew beer butter, Octopus, Chargrilled Sea Bream cucumber, coconut sambal, hazelnut m and the . All slightly different dishes (other than the duck) that I would normally choose and I did not regret it one bit!
The fritters with the honey sauce were amazing (and a best seller) and the salad (I mean I hardly ever eat salad!) was so tasty! Obviously loved the duck and all in all the food was absolutely fantastic and I would absolutely return.
I love finding a restaurant that has such high quality without being too expensive or pretentious – 100 Hoxton is absolutely worth a visit!
