This week we had a veggie experience – we visited Mildreds which is located just under a ten minute walk from Kings Cross Station. There are also branches in Camden, Soho and Dalston given how popular it is!
Mildreds serves up very tasty vegetarian and vegan food and you really don’t feel like you’re missing out on anything when you eat here. Mildreds, Kings Cross is a large and attractive restaurant which was really busy when we visited on a Friday evening – with a fair few people queuing, so you know it’s good!
We tried the Stir Fried Vegetables in shiitake mushroom sauce, with mirin, chilli, coriander, garlic and ginger with brown rice, organic tofu and toasted cashews. This was really tasty, it was healthy and also filling – the tofu was great and the sauce was really delicious. We also tried the Polish Burger, with beetroot, white bean and dill in focaccia bun with iceberg lettuce, red onion mayonnaise, pickled cabbage and gherkin. This was also great, really tasty and filling in fact it was huge! The chips were chunky and tasty and the pesto mayo that came with it was so great.
To finish we had the Chocolate and Hazelnut Brownie with salted caramel sauce and ice cream which was fantastic! The brownie was served hot and was gooey and oh so tasty and the ice cream and sauce were the perfect combination. I would even go as far to say that this was one of the best brownies I have ever tasted!
Everything we ate was vegan, which is mind blowing considering how tasty it all was, especially the brownie! I’d really recommend Mildreds for a tasty meal – whether you are or aren’t a veggie!
