The Old Brewery in Greenwich is a fantastic gastropub linked to the Royal Naval College and seconds away from the Cutty Sark and the river.
I entered through a cute archway into a large outdoor space which, no doubt, would be absolutely buzzing in the summer. However, don’t feel too afraid during the winter as they have blankets and may even be bringing hot water bottles!
The restaurant area in The Old Brewery has high ceilings, maritime artifacts and the old brewing tanks from when Meantime used to brew all of the beer in house.
There is a good choice of beer and wine on the menu – we opted for a Pinot Grigio and an Aperol Spritz (one of my favourites!).
Seeing as it was Sunday, I just had to go for one of the mouthwatering roasts I had seen being served to other customers. I opted for the 28 day aged Aberdeen Angus roast striploin of beef with Goose fat roasties, honey glazed parsnips and carrots, buttered spring green, double egg Yorkies and gravy. It was absolutely huge and they were very accommodating when I asked for more gravy!
We also had the 28 Day aged Aberdeen Angus sirloin steak with thick cut chips, dressed watercress and béarnaise sauce, which was succulent and tasty!
The Old Brewery has friendly staff, a good atmosphere and is definitely worth a visit – watch out for their live music evenings and cocktail masterclasses!
