What is it?
Old Street Records hails from the same group as Venn Street Records in Clapham and Northcote Records in Battersea. Being an East London Girl, I was very happy to discover Old Street Records in Shoreditch, much closer to home than South London! And can’t get much better than 241 cocktails in happy hour between 5-8pm every day, delicious pizzas and live music.
The Cocktails and The Pizzas
There is a decent selection of cocktails at Old Street Records which made it pretty hard to choose but make sure you get them in between 5 and 8pm for 241 happy hour!
We had a STRAWBERRY & PASSIONFRUIT MARTINI – Passion Fruit Syrup shaken up with Strawberry Puree, Eristoff Vodka and a little lime and apple juice, a LEMON SHERBERT – Eristoff Vodka, fresh Lemon Juice, and Giffard Limoncello and the CHERRY SMASH -Gentleman Jack Tennessee Whiskey shaken hard with Giffard Cherry Syrup, Cherry Bitters, fresh Lemon and fresh Mint leaves, topped with Soda. Loved the Martini!
Drinking that many cocktails, we had to soak it up with some Italian carbs in the form of PIZZA! Perfect snack to get you through the night. I managed to wolf down a whole DIAVOLA NDUJA
(Tomato, Fior di Latte, Spicy Salami and Spicy Calabria Sausage) which was really quite impressive! My friend is lactose intolerant so Old St Records made her a PARMIGIANA with tomato sauce, aubergine and mushrooms, which she loved.
Old Street Café
Old Street Records have just launched their cafe which is open Monday to Saturday serving delicious coffee from Brixton based coffee suppliers Assembly, and a food menu inspired by Manhattan’s diverse and iconic sandwich culture – including NYC grilled cheese and the Harlem shack.
There just aren’t enough live music venues in London anymore so I absolutely recommend heading down to Old Street Records for a fun night out!
Also check out the ‘Cheap Date’ package – 2 pizzas and 2 drinks for only £19 between 5 and 8pm Monday to Wednesday – BARGAIN.
