Cute authentic Italian restaurant located between Bank and St. Paul’s just off of Bow Churchyard.
The staff were very friendly and attentive and also very Italian! Walls covered with pictures of Ferrari’s! I visited this restaurant because it accepted my tastecard (50% discount) but the food was good enough to pay full price, in particular the main dishes.
To start we had the Italian rustic bread selection with virgin olive oil (£3.50), deep-fried rice arancini filled with beef ragú and buffalo mozzarella (£9.25) and the butternut squash soup with croutons (£6.75)
For mains we decided to go for the home-made orecchiette with broccoli, garlic, toasted pine nuts and buffalo milk ricotta cheese (£13.25) and homemade Chitarra spaghetti tossed with Scottish beef fillet slices sautéed in garlic, chilli and plum tomato (£15).
The mains were huge portions – the pasta was clearly home made and it was really flavoursome. The staff were attentive and would fill the wine / water frequently and check how the food was.
Meal for 2 with wine and 2 courses was around £60.
