The Lighterman Bar in King’s Cross

The Lighterman

Bar in King’s Cross

The Lighterman bar in King’s Cross opened less than a year ago in the redeveloped plaza, Granary Square.  Apparently, the name is inspired by the industrial past of King’s Cross, and the Victorian Lightermen who worked on flat-bottomed barges, known as “Lighters”, on the canals and rivers of London.

There was a lovely outdoor area on the ground floor and the terrace which is perfect for al freso dining. The interior is large and bright with views of the canal. It really is lovely to see how Granary Square has redeveloped King’s Cross as a eating and drinking destination.

We would definitely visit again for drinks (which were reasonably priced) and also check out some of the food.
