Enoteca Pomaio is a new Italian wine bar / restaurant on Brick Lane focusing on wine and food from the Tuscany region (the restaurant is named after a vineyard in Tuscany called Podere di Pomaio)
This is one of a few places I have been to in London that actually reminds me of being in Italy – the focus is on the number of different wines with smaller food plates to accompany the vino.
Relaxing atmosphere with the manager, Luca, answering all questions knowledgeably and making recommendations. It is nice to see such a genuine passion about the cuisine (ingredients of which are sourced by local producers).
We had the ricotta croquettes with pesto, spelt risotto with blue cheese and the special fish soup. With bread, these dishes were more than enough for lunch. I especially liked the tasty croquettes!
