Restaurant in Knightsbridge

The fifth floor cafe sits on top of the luxury department store Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge, just across the road from the station. Serving up modern European cuisine from breakfast to dinner, it is a great place to stop off in between shopping.

The Mood

The restaurant in Knightsbridge takes up most of the top floor at Harvey Nichols and is a very attractive large open plan dining area. The colour scheme is bright and fresh and there is an outdoor terrace too which is great for the summer. The ambiance is chilled and there was a mix of customers ranging from young to old.

The Vegan Menu

We tried out the new vegan menu which was £23 for two courses or £27 for three. We started with the Coconut and pumpkin soup and the Egg-free omelette, spinach & late winter truffle. The soup was delicious, almost like a broth, packed full of flavour and a nice light start to the meal. The omelette was mind blowing – it was really tasty with the truffle flavour running through.

For our mains we had the Fish ’n’ Chips: battered tofu wrapped in seaweed, minted peas & tartar sauce and the Coq au Vin: artichoke, chickpeas, red wine sauce, mushrooms, smoked tofu & mashed potatoes. The battered tofu was cooked perfectly, really crispy and the seaweed gave a fishy taste that was great. The coq au vin was warming and hearty and full of flavour and the smoked tofu was a great touch.

In Summary

It was a lovely atmosphere and service at this restaurant in Knightstbridge and we really enjoyed the ingenuity of the vegan menu. A lot of effort had gone in to making a special menu for vegans and the effort paid off because everything tasted great.
