The Cocktails

Between 5-7pm every day are happy hour cocktails! Grab a Negroni, Rockefeller Fizz, Pomegranate Margarita and Foxy Lady for only £5 – what a bargain. We sampled some of their awesome Christmas cocktails and particularly loved the Raisin Le Bar:  with Grand Mariner, homemade raisin syrup, lemon and orange bitters.

Lastly, the Foxlow Mimosa: tear drop gin, homemade grapefruit sherbet, prosecco (£8) was refreshing and a nice twist on the normal mimosa.

Foxlow also has an intimate, speakeasy-style 35-cover basement bar, The Owl, which we are keen to check out!

The Food

The menu offers the best seasonal produce from British farmers and fisherman and focuses on the company’s belief in quality, sustainability and animal welfare in obtaining the best produce.

There were a number of starters that were appealing including the pork and fennel meatballs and rare breed spare ribs. We ended up opting for the Fivepepper Brixham squid with devilled mayonnaise (£8.5) and were extremely impressed. The squid was crispy, flavoursome and well cooked – some calamari can be overcooked and bland but this was fantastic. The smashed sweet potato with dukkah &sourdough (£5.50) was a good vegan option but lacked a little flavour for us.

The main vegan and vegetarian main options were varied and we were delighted with the Baked aubergine with herb crumb harissa yoghurt & St Swithins chilli cheese (£11).The dish was well cooked with a good level of spice. The Flat iron steak with fries (£15.5) was good value for the quality and size of the meat and we couldn’t resist adding on peppercorn for £2 extra.
