Indian Restaurant in Dalston
Attawa is a Indian Restaurant in Dalston offering dishes from the Punjab region of Northern India. ‘Attawa’ is the name of the founders’ family village in Punjab, where they lived until re-locating to London in the 1970s.
The menu is designed by Arbinder Duggal, who grew up in Punjab and was a semi-finalist on Masterchef: The Professionals 2019. The focus is on a mix of comforting family recipes and modern twists.
We had our meal delivered but have seen beautiful pictures of the restaurant interiors.

Food wise, we had the following dishes:
- Palak Papdi Chaat
- Gol Guppas

- Tandoor Lamb Chops

- Chicken Masala Makhani
- Garlic and Herb Kulcha (stamped with Attawa!)

- Chutney Trio
- Pilau Rice
- Dhaal Makhani

These dishes were impressive. There was spice but it didn’t blow you away – just how I like it. The winning dishes were the Palak Papdi Chaat and the Dhaal Makani. There were so many other options on the menu I would have happily ordered too!
