Barbecoa is a restaurant owned by Jamie Oliver by One New Change by St Pauls. The concept is based on slow-cooked dry-aged meat with a decent atmosphere. My visit to Barbecoa did not disappoint – from the check in at reception and being seated upstairs to the bill, the service was sleek and efficient whilst also being friendly and unpretentious.
The views from the restaurant are gorgeous as it overlooks St Pauls cathedral and we were lucky enough to have a seat by the window!
We started off with some £5 cocktails (bargain) which are available from a selected menu from 5pm-8pm. We had the club fizz and the coming up roses – both great!
To start, we had the short rib croquettes and the pork scratching from the small nibble menu as we didn’t want to spoil our appetite. The croquettes in particular were great!
Moving on to mains we had the pit beef – slow cooked beef with bbq sauce and a fillet steak with smoked bernaise sauce. Accompanying the mains we had sides of heritage tomatoes, mac n cheese and fries. The meat was tender and filling and the sides were also fantastic.
Lastly, we managed to fit in a dessert to share – pink lemonade sorbet and cherry ice cream.
What a meal! I didn’t eat again until 13.00 the next day! Recommended.
