BB Bakery based in Covent Garden came up with an ingenious idea of Afternoon Tea on a bus tour around London – what a wonderful idea!! Amazingly, they also offer a boat tour around London too.
The bus tours leave from either Northumberland Avenue or Victoria station – make sure you book a month or two in advance for weekends, especially if you want a seat upstairs! If you want a seat at the front of the bus, it is an extra £10. Other tickets vary for weekdays and weekends but are between £45-50 pp. You can also bring your own alcohol on board – the website says there is a corkage fee of £5 but we weren’t charged for this.
The tour covers the following and is a lovely way to see London:
The traditional afternoon tea includes savoury cake with ham, cucumber and mint finger sandwich, salmon blinis with cream cheese and chicken sandwich with tomato bread and vegetable quiche.
There were a variety of cakes including, mini chocolate cupcake, pistachio macaroons, Victoria sponge and creme patisserie. All topped off with scones with clotted cream and jam! I asked in advance for sandwiches with no dressing and they were happy to oblige. They also cater for vegetarian, gluten free and halal diets.
It was a wonderful day and the staff on board were very friendly and took as many pictures as possible! Recommended.
