Dishoom

Dishoom is a popular Bombay café serving AMAZING breakfast naan breads (bacon, sausage, egg served with a little cream cheese, chilli tomato jam and fresh herb). If you haven’t visited Dishoom, where have you been?! This place is consistently fantastic and offers innovative brunch dishes. Try and get a seat on the lovely Verandah in their Shoreditch branch if you can.

Café East

Cafe East is a busy and buzzing cafe on Roman Road serving a fantastic spread of breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes. The menu is extensive and lucky for us, very affordable for the quality and portion size you get. I was all over the waffle and pancake offerings – coming in at just under £10 is the Lost in London with waffles, scrambled eggs, streaky bacon, cumberland sausage, 2 hash browns and baked beans!

Price: £5-10

Cecconis

Cecconis in Shoreditch offers one of the best brunches in east London in the form of their Feast Mneu available from 12-5 on Sunday’s. They say to expect pasta, risotto, pizza, meatballs, roast meats and “much more” and let me tell you something – they are not lying! The choice of food was absolutely amazing! The antipasti / starter selection included salmon, prawns, tuna and a selection of charcuterie and salads. The mains included a number of pasta dishes, risotto, fish and roast meats. Yes, you can have an entire roast dinner here and MORE.

Price: £28pp

Hotbox

Hotbox in Aldgate never fails to disappoint. The Bandit Burger (Dry aged beef patty, smoked short rib, jalapeno, cheese, chimichurri) is absolutely epic. The quality of the dishes is always on pont – the meat is so tender and juicy. We recommend sharing a few dishes so you don’t get food jealousy.

Price:  Dishes £8-20 + £25pp for 2 hours including unlimited Prosecco, Mimosas and a selection of Summer Cocktails

The Breakfast Club has become a staple venue for brunch in London and the All American with pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon and fried potatoes is always a winner. We love the Hackney Wick Branch on the canal in the Here East Development.

Hoi Polloi

Hoi Poi has a stylish but unpretentious atmosphere with a string quartet playing a wide variety of songs over brunch. The brasserie (part of the Ace Hotel in Shoreditch) offers typical brunch dishes as well as a roast option. The Buttermilk pancakes, bacon, maple syrup were amazing.

Price: £8-12 (brunch dishes) £18 roast

Pavilion Café

Pavillion is a gorgeous café overlooking the lake in Victoria Park offering a changing menu of veggie dishes. This is one of my favourite locals for brunch in the summer but make sure you arrive early as it gets busy quickly. Totally recommend the pancakes and bananas which are stacked high!
