Bunga Bunga is a multi purpose venue in Battersea, right by the river.
I visited the Bunga Bunga club (Cocobana) on a Saturday evening. We managed to get in for free before 10.30 on the guestlist, saving us £10. The club is spread out on two floors with different music playing. There is a large bar on the first floor serving all sorts of cocktails and a dance floor and the upstairs, smaller room, has a beach shack serving drinks and a smaller dance floor.
I really liked the crowd and atmosphere here – pretty chilled and not too pretentious. The music was great with a Brazilian electronic influence. The drinks were also fairly reasonably priced – my favourite cocktail was the “bum bum” (see picture below). Open until 2am at the weekends.
Aside from the club night, Bunga Bunga offers an Italian menu and the stone baked pizzas look great! On Tuesdays they offer pizza and prosecco for £10. The general cocktail menu is extensive and they are around £10 each – there are also various sharer cocktails.
My friend has also been to the Saturday brunch, which apparently gets pretty rowdy and fun with karaoke and dancing on tables. Sounds great! For £44 pp you get two hours of prosecco, “do it yourself” Bellini kits and a three course brunch.
The decor says it all about Bunga Bunga – fun, original and colourful. Just a little awkward to get to!
