Indian Street Food in Shoreditch
Dishoom is an amazing Bombay cafe in London paying homage to the Irani cafes which welcomed all and tried to break down barriers by bringing people together over food and drink. It’s not your traditional ‘curry house’ but, instead offers amazing Indian street food in Shoreditch. Dishoom has four other branches in London – King’s Cross, Covent Garden, Carnaby and Kensington.
The Shoreditch branch of Dishoom has a lovely outside Verandah for dining. Unfortunately you can’t book so it is pot luck if you manage to get a space.
Their breakfast naans are incredible. Each naan is freshly baked by hand in the tandoor oven. It is accompanied with a little cream cheese, chilli tomato jam, fresh herbs and one of Dishoom’s signature fillings.
The Wrestler’s Naan Roll (£9.9) is the king of the naan breads. It comes with Smoked streaky bacon, peppery pork sausages and runny-yolked egg. Heavenly. Dishoom also offers sausage, bacon and egg naan rolls (separately) and a number of side dishes, including masala beans.
Breakfast is served from 8am to 11.45am on weekdays and from 9am to 11.45am on weekends.
Dishoom delivers consistently excellent food on every visit. The breakfast naans are simply amazing and the dinner options are just as good. Information on Dishoom’s dinner options and the Carnaby branch can be found here.
