Hudson’s House is a bar and restaurant at the St Giles Hotel, just off Tottenham Court Road. The menu is typically British including a selection of steaks, burgers, lamb, mixed grill and fish.
We both opted for the sirloin steak with sweet potato fries and bearnaise / red wine sauce. The steak was good enough as “pub grub” but a little overcooked. Seeing as I was using a tastecard with 50% off, I didn’t want to kick up a fuss!
However, Hudson’s House upped the ante with the eton mess, which was well presented and tasted wonderful.
The service was good and the atmosphere pretty chilled. Also, look out for the cheaper lunch menu (selected dishes £10 including a drink) and a pre-theatre menu of 2 courses for £12.95.
Nice place to visit just for a drink as well if you are looking for somewhere slightly quieter than the hectic west end! Classic cocktail menu priced between £8-9.
