Brunch in Battersea
Linnaean Living combines dining, hair and beauty in one and offers a great brunch in Battersea. We started our brunch with a Maitakke latte (£5.50) and a passion fruit kombucha (£5.50). The maitakke is a type of mushroom and so the latte had an earthy flavour without being overwhelmingly ‘shroomy! The kombucha was lovely, light and refreshing serviced with a fresh half passion fruit on top.
The brunch menu has lots of exciting options from a light fruit bowl to a full breakfast or a burger. We had the Super Brunch with poached eggs (fried or scrambled available) or scrambled tofu avocado, roasted cherry tomato & mushrooms, temphé bacon, beans, beetroot chorizo, cucumber, miso tekka (£14.50). This was a super hearty brunch that arrived looking beautifully put together. Though the dish was filling, it was light thanks to the plant based items on the menu. The beet chorizo was a lovely flavour and it’s great that the eggs can be swapped for a vegan friendly alternative.
The Linnaean Burger with sweet potatoes, tomato, malted vegan cashew cheese, temphé bacon, cucumber, pickled onion, tamarind ketchup, coriander, tofu mayo (£15) was equally impressive. A really enjoyable plant based burger that was super ‘meaty’ yet light – absolute plant based burger goals! We loved the tamarind ketchup on the side too, it had a lovely bbq-y sweetness.
Linnaean is a beautiful spot to grab brunch in Battersea. The interiors are tastefully decked out with florals and beautiful furnishings. Outside has a lovely french al fresco vibe so great if you prefer to dine outdoors at the moment. The staff were incredibly friendly too. The versatility of the menu makes it perfect for vegans and gluten free diners too without compromising on the types of dishes available.
