Restaurant in Belgravia
Liv Restaurant is a relaxed all-day neighbourhood restaurant in Belgravia, close to Sloane Square station. It’s gorgeous inside Liv with a minimal and contemporary yet cosy feel and it radiates a welcoming atmosphere from the moment you step inside.
The team were super friendly and set the tone right at the start with warming smiles. It wasn’t too busy when we visited, so we were given the option of where we wanted to sit. Choosing a cosy corner, we were a little tucked away which was great for a catch-up over dinner.
The drinks menu at Liv features plenty of alcoholic options from wine to classic cocktails and those with a twist. There are also several soft drink options – these aren’t always delivered to the table with the dinner menu, so don’t be afraid to ask for the non-alcoholic options. The menus feature a few delicious sounding juices and smoothies, waters, hot drinks and a handful of botanical mocktails.
We decided to go alcohol-free, the botanical drinks catching our eye. The Nogroni (£6.50), with seedlip, orange and pomegranate, was a fantastic non-alcoholic version of the negroni. It was zesty, fruity and absolutely delicious. The Seedlip gin with Fevertree Tonic Water, cucumber, lime, mint (£6.75) tasted fresh and light. Very similar to a G&T. It came in a large copa glass (like a double gin), making it a really good size!
The Main Dishes
The dinner menu features several small plates and nibbles, pasta and larger plates and a handful of desserts. Dishes include the likes of Mini crab brioche rolls, Prawn & chicken dumplings, Duck paccheiri, 17-hour wagyu beef and Red lentil fritters. It’s quite a mix of different cuisines, but we thought it worked really well! Eyeing up the desserts from the start we skipped straight to mains!
The Seabass (£18) was so beautiful in flavour and texture and had a fantastic crispy skin. It came with boulangere potatoes and crispy artichokes, which were both delicious too, and complimented the seabass well.
The Red lentil fritters (£13) was another great main. Arriving with pea hummus, herb yoghurt, baby spinach, sprout & herb salad, we added some halloumi (£3.50) on top too. The lentil fritters were soft yet crispy on the outside, mild in flavour but very tasty. The pea hummus was delicious, as was the herby yoghurt – both working beautifully alongside the fritters. The halloumi wasn’t too squeaky, it was a bit soft and really thick. Together with the salad, it was one superb main choice!
The shoestring fries with fragrant sea salt (£4) made for a good side too. Very thin, and just salty enough, they were great for picking at alongside our dishes.
There are only four sweet desserts and one cheese option on the dinner menu but they all sucked us in from the start, hence having to leave space.
The Apple Crumble (£8) was delightful. The crumble was thick and soft, yet crunchy on top. There was plenty of apple underneath too. The vanilla bean ice cream which is served atop the crumble was really creamy and potent in flavour. Even when we got full, we couldn’t stop as it was too good!
The Ice Cream Sundae (£8), with hot fudge sauce , roasted nuts, our secret recipe was awesome too. There was plenty of ice cream and the warm secret recipe fudge sauce hardened on top of the ice cream. There were lots of pieces of mars bar on top and hidden inside too. It was a fantastic end to a great meal.
We had a lovely, relaxed and cosy evening at Liv Restaurant in Belgravia where the team were superb and friendly. We were impressed by the food, both the mains and desserts, and the non-alcoholic drinks options too. To top it off, it’s really reasonably priced for the area! A great spot for a chilled catch-up.
