The Piano Works is London’s only non-stop live music venue, open every day from 5pm – 1am and now at the weekend for brunch between 12 and 4. The best bit is that the audience chooses the songs!
On each table are cards where you can request your song – you either hand it up on stage or put it on the table lamp and your waiter will come and collect. Option to tip so if you are desperate for a song to be played, add a couple of quid 🙂
The night began for us at 7.30pm with two pianists playing requests from the audience. It was seriously impressive how they could turn their hand to any request. At 8.30pm, the band arrived with a saxophonist, guitarist and drummer and the song requests just flooded in.
It was Winehouse Wednesdays when I visited which meant that any bottle of wine (exc bubbly) was the house price of just £19.50. Great way to try a few different wines without breaking the bank! We also ordered some bar food – burger sliders, chorizo lollipops and sweet potato fries just to make sure we didn’t get too carried away with the vino…
The venue (which is a 5 min walk from Farringdon tube) fits around 400 people in so is pretty spacious and the atmosphere was just great. Everyone was in good spirits and people started dancing as soon as the band came on.
Totally rated this place and can’t wait to return – just a great night out for friends, with work or on a date. It apparently gets very busy at the weekend so make sure you book a table in advance.
They have also just started offering brunch on a Saturday (boozy optional) with the live music which I am looking forward to trying.
Part party, part bar, part restaurant, part club, part concert – what more could you ask for??
