Valentina is a delicatessen and restaurant with several branches around London. The deli offers a wide range of authentic Italian foods, both fresh and packaged, ranging from meats and cheeses to Italian wines and liqueurs. Each deli also has a range of takeaway foods, including lasagne, arancini and hot pizza and pasta in the week. Also don’t forget the Italian Easter colomba (cake) and Easter eggs!
We visited the restaurant near Tower Bridge for their new “Wine and Dine Wednesdays” offering a 3 course meal from a set menu with bottomless bubbles or wine for only £24,95, which is great value.
There were three starters on offer so we decided to share two of them – the Calamari and the Salumi Misti. The other one was a bruschetta pomodoro, so a good choice. Both portions were really generous with the Salumi Misti consisting of a selection of cured salami, napoli salami, spicy ventricina and mortadella served with crispy carasau bread, which I rated.
Again, there were a selection of three main courses – margherita pizza, fusillotti n’duja and the pollo al funghi. Given my love for n’duja, this course was an easy choice and I was not disappointed! The portion was large and to my joy, there was a ton of n’duja with my pasta – no scrimping there at all!
Pretty full by dessert so we shared a pannacotta served with mix berries comptote, which was light and tasty.
Good service, nice Italian feel and a great dinner, especially with the bottomless bubbles!
