Tucked in between Charing Cross and Embankment (right by the Strand) is Villiers, an all day dining restaurant and wine bar.

I visited on a Saturday evening and it was busy with people having wine by the bar and people watching on stools by the front window, and others having a bite to eat.

We started off with an Aperol Spritz, the new phase to hit London and one of my ‘go-to’ drinks now. The menu is predominately British influenced and includes a number of smaller dishes for sharing and larger main meals.

I had already spied the fish and chips (with homemade tartar sauce and lemon) on another table so just had to give that a go and it was delicious, with a really generous portion of chips. My friend made me feel bad choosing a much healthier option of flatbread with beetroot hummus, which she absolutely loved, and a seasonal salad with green beans, asparagus, broad beans, mung sprouts, spring onions, radish and mix leaves and house dressing.

Instead of a dessert, we decided to try another couple of cocktails – Hugo (prosecco, elderflower, lime, mint) and Cherry Fix (prosecco, morello cherry, somerset eau de vie) which were good!

The food and service was great – Villiers is a lovely little spot for drinks / food during the day or evening!
