From the people behind Goodman and Burger and Lobster comes Zelman Meats – a restaurant focused on quality cuts of beef.
The menu changes slightly between lunch and dinner (I saw some brisket on offer for lunch) – we had the choice of sliced picanha (£6 per 100g) sliced chateaubriand (£9 per 100g) and smoked short rib (£12 for 200g). The only catch is you have to order a minimum of 200g so we chose 200g of each with a side of triple cooked chips and some sauces at only £1 each.
The meat (served medium rare) was absolutely outstanding – tender, flavoursome, not fatty at all and completely filling! My favourite was the short rib, smoked for 4 hours and then slowly cooked – delicious.
Lovely surroundings with leather booths and it reminded me of one of my favourite steakhouses in New York. Absolutely recommend – just as good as somewhere like Hawksmoor, if not slightly better!
