Modern European Restaurant in Chelsea
Perched on the famous King’s Road sits Bluebird, a modern European Restaurant in Chelsea. The restaurant is vast with high ceilings, a stylish central bar and numerous tables. The space is adorned with greenery and lit beautifully moodily.
We decided on the Stone bass & shrimp ceviche to start (£13) served with passion fruit, jalapeño and plantain crisps. The intriguing combination of ingredients certainly does not disappoint. It arrives looking beautifully colourful and topped with edible flowers. The dish sings with zingy bursts of flavour, tender melt in the mouth seafood and the plantain crisp adds a lovely contrast of texture. One of our favourites and a great start.
We also had the Crispy duck salad (£14) with mango, lotus root, chilli and ginger dressing. A hearty starter with great fresh flavours and a generous serving of duck.
The mains menu of this gorgeous Modern European restaurant in Chelsea includes a grill section with a lovely selection of dishes. We opted for the Grilled whole seabass (£23) served with sea vegetables and chimichurri. The fish was perfectly flakey and tender served with samphire and the chimichurri offered a delicious tangy fresh pop of flavour to bring the dish together.
We also tried the Yellowfin tuna steak (£23) with smoked tomatoes, roasted peppers and olives. The fish was perfectly cooked, blushing pink in the middle and tender and the warming flavours gave this dish a heartier feel.
We moved on with excitement (despite our fullness!) to the dessert menu. We opted for the Triple chocolate brownie (£8) served with chocolate soil and cherry ripple ice cream. This dessert was enjoyable but certainly more cake like than the fudge brownie we expected. However, it was still a great end to a wonderful meal and beautifully presented.
The Nutmeg and custard tart with Yorkshire rhubarb and pistachio sable (£8) had simple comforting flavours that were executed beautifully in this gorgeous tart. We loved the silky custard encased in perfect crispy pastry with dots of delicious rhubarb on top. A real favourite again that we thoroughly enjoyed.
Bluebird’s dishes are a real delight – exquisitely presented creations that live up to and exceed expectation. We thoroughly enjoyed every course and despite the expansive size of the restaurant, the service and evening retained a personal, relaxed and intimate feel.
This Modern European Restaurant in Chelsea is easily a great choice for a special occasion. It is on the pricier side although there are also reasonably priced set menus on offer. Afternoon tea and brunch are also available, plus the bar is open for drinks should you wish to check it out.
