Sri Lankan Restauant in Shoreditch
Tucked away on the charming cobbles of Blossom Street, just moments from Liverpool Street Station, Kolamba East is a popular Sri Lankan Restaurant in Shoreditch. The restaurant brings “big flavours from a small island” to East London, serving vibrant Sri Lankan dishes in a beautifully designed space filled with warm lighting, natural textures and sleek modern interiors.

Drinks wise, there are spice-led serves pairing perfectly with the food — the spicy margaritas and signature cocktails are well worth exploring.

The food was genuinely impressive from start to finish. The hot butter soft shell crab delivered the perfect balance of sweetness, spice and crunch, while the aubergine biryani with delicate string hoppers was rich and fragrant.

The dhal was simple but excellent, and the charred coconut chicken stood out for its smoky depth and gentle heat. Every dish felt bold, layered and full of character, exactly what you want from Sri Lankan cooking.

Service was friendly, relaxed and knowledgeable without ever feeling overdone.
A standout offering is the Saturday Island Brunch, where diners can share a generous Sri Lankan thali feast for just £35!
