Food Hall in Mayfair
Mercato Mayfair is a stunning food hall in Mayfair in an old restored London church. It is from the same team as Mercato Metropolitano based in Elephant & Castle which is one of my favourite venues for street food in London.
The Grade-I listed St Mark’s Church had a whopping two-year £5 million revamp! Unsurprisingly, the three floors of this food hall in Mayfair are absolutely stunning. Oh, and there is a rooftop!
Downstairs is home to an underground bar with cosy alcoves and seating at the bar. As the sign says, there is plenty of gin, beer and wine here!
The floor as you enter is full of artisan products for sale which then leads to a number of food vendors and bars. Climb the stairs or get the lift to the top floor and you will be delighted at the amazing views looking down on the ground floor. It truly is stunning.
Food vendor wise there is a real variety of dishes from around the world:
- Steamy and Co
- Pasta London
- Lala Mayfair
- Cha Cha Mayfair
- Santo Grill and Wine
- Cheese and Charcuterie Vault
- MM Restaurant
It truly is an amazing food hall in Mayfair with tons of choice. We fancied bao buns and gyozas so chose Steamy & Co. The ‘Steamy Combo’ included a Bao, 3 dumplings and a soft drink for £9.5. The bao buns are made in-house and you can choose from Crispy Mushroom, Braised Pork Belly and Sriracha Beef Brisket. Gyoza wise they offer Classic Pork and Potato & Grilled Cheese. We were impressed with the flavours in both the beef brisket bao and pork gyoza. It isn’t enough to fill you up for a big meal but still hit the spot for me. The Margerita pizza at Fresco was really tasty with a thin base and delicious mozzarella.
This is an absolutely gorgeous food hall in Mayfair in a stunning venue. There is plenty of choice food and bar wise and a fun, chilled atmosphere. Mercato Mayfair also offers Mayfair Community Space in the basement with free music classes and performances and exercise classes.
