Teppanyaki in London
Benihana has several successful restaurants around the world including Europe, Middle East and South East Asia. In the UK, there are two venues in Chelsea and Covent Garden offering teppanyaki in London.
The restaurant has roots in Japan with its inspiration for its name Benihana, or ‘red flower’ in Japanese, from the red safflower found in Japanese streets.
It feels very theatrical when you arrive seeing all the chefs performing at the teppanyaki hot plates at each table!

The Hibachi lunches are delicious with several different meat and fish options that come with a veg & prawn appetiser, a side salad and a bowl of egg fried rice. There is also one vegetarian option served with miso soup.
We recommend sharing a hibachi lunch between two so you have room for some other delights on the menu. The Pirikara Prawns were a highlight and the salmon roll, prawn tempura roll and spring rolls were also delicious.

The chef put on such a great performance when cooking the Hibachi lunch from creating a volcano on fire from slide onions to juggling hard boiled eggs. I’ve also never seen someone slice prawns so fast in my life either! All the staff were friendly and welcoming – thoroughly recommend a visit to this Japanese restaurant in Covent Garden.
