Chatora City Indian Restaurant, London

Modern Indian Restaurant in the City of London

If you’re looking for modern Indian dining done exceptionally well, Chatora City deserves a place on your list. From the warm hospitality to the beautifully executed dishes, every part of the experience reflects owner Jam’s passion for great food and genuine service.

At the heart of the kitchen is a traditional charcoal-fired tandoor oven, reaching temperatures of up to 500°C. The result is incredible smoky flavour, perfect charring and dishes cooked with real depth and authenticity.

Every plate was beautifully presented and packed with flavour. Standout dishes included:

  • Kalonji Paneer Tikka – Soft Indian paneer marinated with aromatic pickling spices before being chargrilled in the tandoor. Smoky, lightly spiced and served with a fresh mint chutney.
  • Malabar Prawns – Succulent prawns marinated in a fragrant coconut malai, then cooked over the charcoal for a beautifully smoky finish.
  • Honey Chilli Cauliflower – Crispy cauliflower coated in a sticky sweet and spicy glaze. A seriously moreish dish that disappeared quickly!

  • Punjabi Samosa Chaat – A crisp samosa topped with spiced yellow peas, yoghurt, tamarind and green chutney, delivering the perfect balance of crunch, sweetness and spice.
  • Dahi Puri – Crisp semolina shells filled with yoghurt and vibrant chutneys, creating a refreshing burst of flavour in every bite.
  • Chatora Black Dal – Rich, creamy black lentils slow-cooked to perfection and finished with burnt garlic for incredible depth of flavour.
  • Garlic Naan – Soft, fluffy and generously topped with wild garlic and fresh coriander

Chatora City strikes a brilliant balance between traditional and contemporary Indian cooking. If you’re after bold flavours and expertly cooked dishes, this modern Indian restaurant in the City of London is well worth a visit.
