Japanese Restaurant in Kensington
Flesh & Buns is a top Japanese restaurant in Kensington with venues also in Covent Garden and Oxford Circus. It’s designed as an izakaya which is a casual eating and drinking spot popular all over Japan – I was lucky enough to visit a few in Toyko. Their motto is all about sharing, feasting and drinking sake.
Flesh and Buns Menu
The menu is split into small plates, raw & sushi and large plates. If you visit in a group definitely try a selection! They also offer an Omakase group feasting menu or a tasting menu for a minimum of 7 people. Lastly, Flesh & Buns have a express lunch menu available every day until 6.45pm.
We tried the following dishes:
- Corn Tempura: Sea salt, citrus dressing, chives
- Scallop Sashimi
- Salmon Teriyaki with lemon, sea salt, cucumber pickle with bao buns
- Maki Set (salmon avocado, prawn tempura, spicy tuna)
- Fried Squid: Yuzu kosho mayo, Japanese pepper, red chilli, lime
All of the dishes were full of flavour and the staff were super friendly, giving us ideas of what to order. If you’re looking for a Japanese restaurant in Kensington, this should be top of your list.
