Neighbourhood Restaurant in Putney
Home SW15 is a neighbourhood restaurant in Putney, serving up brunch, lunch, dinner and cocktails. With gorgeous décor and separate bar and restaurant areas, it’s a real SW gem!
On arriving at Home it was clear that the staff are really passionate about creating a great experience for their guests and the fantastic service continued throughout the night.
We were more than happy to work our way through the cocktail menu! We sampled four throughout the evening – Gin & Tea Party, Side Car, Tom Collins and Amaretto Sour. The cocktails are priced at £9.75 and a Happy Hour is offered between 4pm-8pm Monday – Thursday, where they are all £5. Bargain! The gin-based Tom Collins stood out for us as our favourite cocktail but we loved all the drinks we sampled.
We opted for the Burrata with Nduja Vinaigrette, Blood Orange and Sourdough (£9.5) and the Whole Prawns with Crusty Bread (£11).
The Whole Prawns are usually served with garlic butter, however due to a lactose intolerance dietary requirement, the chef prepared these in olive oil. The attention paid to allergies by staff throughout the meal was really impressive. The prawns were really juicy and definitely a great choice!
Burrata is really popular on restaurant menus at the moment, and we were pleasantly surprised that something a bit different had been done here. Rather than served whole, the creamiest burrata was spread across the sourdough. The nduja vinaigrette was a perfect addition, giving a real kick to the dish.
Next we chose ‘That’ Shrimp Burger, Sriracha Mayo and Chips (£17) and Pan Roasted Cod, White Beans, Harissa & Olive Crumb (£19.50).
The Shrimp Burger is definitely on the pricier side at £17 but it was big and juicy. We also loved the Sriracha Mayo accompaniment which was plentiful and delicious. The Cod was beautifully presented, melted in the mouth and was our favourite of the two mains we tried. The olive crumb added a crunchy texture to the soft fish, which tasted great!
The fabulous attention to allergy requirements shone through again when it came to desserts. None of the desserts on the menu except the Sharing Vegan Apple & Blackberry Crumble were suitable for lactose intolerance. However, the chef was happy to create an individual portion, which was served with delicious vegan custard. The Cheesecake was a stand our dish. It was so creamy and covered in popcorn which was an unusual and tasty touch.
Home SW15 is a friendly neighbourhood restaurant in Putney with a great chilled out atmosphere. When we visited on a Monday night it was steadily busy with those enjoying date night cocktails or a dinner with friends.
For dinner bookings between 6pm and 7pm, there’s a newly launched Early Doors Menu – 3 courses from the regular a la carte menu for £29.50. This is an awesome deal given most restaurants offer a set menu.
Some of the food is at a high price point but a lot of care has been taken on the menu and the experience (including the friendly service) was worth it. With the Early Doors Deal and Happy Hour both on offer, there are also bargains to be found. The menus at Home SW15 do change, so check their website to see what’s on offer on the day!
