The Escapoligist

Cocktail bar in Seven Dials

Apparently this cocktail bar in Seven Dials was named after a Victorian scoundrel, Baron Von Took, whose last wish before he was hung was to have a drink in one of Covent Garden’s brew houses. Well, you guessed it – he managed to escape!

The Escapologist does have many nookies and grannies in its low lit basement with low ceilings. Definitely reserve a table in advance if you can as there isn’t much space for standing.

The Cocktails

In good news, happy hour runs from Sunday to Friday from opening time (5pm every day bar Friday when its 4pm) to 7pm. You can get 2 for 1 on:

  • all menu cocktails
  • bottles of Peroni
  • glasses of house wine
  • glasses of prosecco

What a way to start your night!

The cocktail menu is split between ‘Party Time’ and ‘Premium Cocktails’ and are priced between £9 and 12. We visited on a Saturday when there wasn’t happy hour but had a free cocktail through the Dusk App. The Club Tropicana (off the menu) is served tall with Lemon-infused Eristoff vodka, limoncello, mango, fresh lemon juice, fresh mint, Red Bull tropical. It was a light, citrusy and enjoyable cocktail.

The menu contains your classic cocktails including a Porn Star Martini and Long Island Ice Tea but also some more adventurous options included Plum Sake Negroni and Strawberry Tiramisu.
