Rooftop Bar in the City of London
Wagtail is a stunning rooftop restaurant and bar in the City of London, right by Monument station. It’s also close to Bank, London Bridge and Blackfriars. The venue is split over two floors, including a restaurant with two private terraces and a fully heated and covered rooftop terrace bar.
We couldn’t access the whole venue when we visited as there was a private party. However, the terrace with views over the Shard was an excellent spot for alfresco drinks. The two cocktail we had (Clover and Indigo) were beautifully presented with a good balance of flavours.
The service within the restaurant area was pretty much faultless – very attentive and friendly without being overbearing. The starters were the highlight of our meal – some of the best scallops I have had and a creamy burrata.
Overall the food is on the pricier side and the portions are quite small so one for a special occasion. I would definitely return for drinks with that view! They also offer bottomless brunch at the weekends from 11-4pm.
