Yoga in North Goa, Anjuna
I spent 9 glorious days practicing Yoga in North Goa in Anjuna. Yoga Magic really was a peaceful haven with beautiful surroundings – palm trees galore and a fantastic pool area.
The hosts, Phil and Juliet, were welcoming and have been there for the last 14 years developing Yoga Magic into what it is now. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and everything was always kept clean and tidy.
I was slightly skeptical about the eco lodges before I arrived. However, they were great! The lodge had a spacious interior with two beds (with mosquito nets) and a separate dressing room area. There was an outside bathroom area with a sink, mirror, clay pot for washing and eco toilet. There were also hot showers a minute walk away within the complex.
The food was all vegetarian and absolutely amazing. So much thought was put into the recipes and the flavours worked well without being too spicy. My favourite dishes were the daal, pumpkin curry and the bombay street food mix.
The meditation / yoga spaces are in huge tents and are normally held in the mornings and afternoons when the sun is not so hot. I initially thought it would be humid but it was actually rather bearable. Just remember to cover up when possible due to the mosquitoes!
If you are looking to practice Yoga in North Goa then Yoga Magic is the place! They are helpful from the outset and will organise your transfers from the airport and any other taxis you require during your visit, fixing a price beforehand, so there are no surprises. The complex is absolutely stunning, staff are friendly and the food was great!
