Brighton Pubs and Bars
Brighton is one of my favourite places in the UK. With fond memories from university days, it will always have a special place in my heart. There are so many great pubs and bars in Brighton but here are some of my favourite ones:
Ohso Social Beachfront Brighton
Ohso Social is a popular bar in Brighton right on the seafront by the pier. It’s a fun venue with small and large bites to eat, a large terrace area (heated in the winter) and DJs / live music.

Fortune of War
This pub is a Brighton institution given it has been open since 1877! With a large seafront terrace area, it’s another popular bar, especially in the summer. There is also a main bar and second floor area as well as delicious burgers from Honest Burgers.

Be At One Brighton
Situated near the Pavilion is Be at One, a popular cocktail bar chain which gets lively early on. The venue is renowned for their cocktails so expect some great classics and fun, inventive drinks. Happy hour (aka 2-4-1 cocktails!) is available Monday to Friday and Sunday until 8pm and on Saturday until 6pm. Be at One is a great option for a good dance!

Patterns
Situated to the left of the pier opposite the Sea Life Centre, Patterns Bar offers views of Brighton Pier from its rooftop and front terrace area.

The bar inside is large and spacious with basement club nights on Friday and Saturday. There’s plenty of live music on the agenda so keep an eyr on the website. Patterns also offers £5 pizzas (absolute bargain!) as well as bottomless brunch on a Saturday.

The Mesmerist
Tucked in the South Lanes is The Mesmerist, a deceptively large bar with 5 rooms, some which are perfect for events, large parties and masterclasses. There is also a roof garden for al fresco drinking – always cocktails for me! Weekend bottomless brunches also include a selection of free flowing cocktails as well as prosecco.
The Font
This bar takes me back to my student days and it’s still cheap and cheerful. Situated in a two storey building with high ceilings, the Font gets pretty packed at the weekends.
There are some great deals on food including burger and a drink for less than £10. From 5-8pm on Monday to Friday the Font also offers £4 drinks (selected) which includes cocktails. What a bargain!

Alcotraz Brighton
Are your ready to break the law? Alcotraz is an immersive cocktail experience in Brighton where you are imprisoned for 1.5 hours with cocktails being “snuck in” to your prison. I’ve only visited Alcotraz London but love the concept.

Mrs Fitzherberts
Mrs Fitzherberts is another bar with an outdoor terrace which is perfect for people watching. The ‘Lost Gardens of Fitzherbert’ cocktail bar is situated on the first floor with prices starting from a very reasonable £7.50. There’s live music on Thursday from 8pm and DJs on Friday & Saturday from 9pm.
