Hotel In Florence
We stayed in Locanda Dei Guelfi, a bed-and-breakfast / hotel in Florence situated around a seven minute walk from both the train station and the Duomo. It was situated on the third floor of a building that does not have lifts so be warned of the climbing. If you want your luggage carried up there is a bell that you can ring!
Locanda Dei Guelfi has six rooms which are fairly spacious with a large double bed, wardrobe and safe. The bathroom was a little on the small side but still adequate.
The breakfast was served in the room near the reception area and included a selection of meats and cheeses, bread, lots of sweet and savour snacks to take away, fresh fruit yoghurt , cereal and boiled eggs. There is a small balcony by the breakfast room where you can see the Duomo which is so nice!
You can also climb the winding spiral stairs to the rooftop terrace to see the views! It is a great space to have a little apertif before you go out in the evening.
Overall
The location was perfect – we didn’t need taxis and could walk to the river in about 20 minutes. The staff were friendly and happy to help with any questions. We paid just over €100 per night per room which is pretty good value for a hotel in Florence and included the breakfast.
