Indian Restaurant in Limehouse
Natak is a gorgeous Indian restaurant in Limehouse, just a few minutes walk from the station. The vibrant interiors welcome you immediately, as do the lovely staff.
Their menu is spread across small plates, dishes from the grill and main dishes, complete with a list of sides. Starter wise we opted for:
- Dahi Sev Puri (crispy wheat balls with chickpeas, yogurt, and spiced potato sprinkled with sev, topped with tamarind chutney)
- Natak Paneer (smoky grilled Indian cheese cooked with mixed peppers and onions in a Szechuan sauce)
- Salt and Pepper Tiger Prawns (lightly battered and tossed in homemade spices and spring onions)
- Paneer Tikka (marinated in spices, garlic and yogurt
Each dish was bursting with vibrant colour and left a tingling sensation of flavours in our mouths. The tiger prawns were incredibly meaty and succulent and had a great kick of spice. The Dahi Sev Puri were so delicate and beautiful looking and packed full of texture and flavour.
We delved into the traditional Indian side dishes of poppadums, garlic naan and saffron rice which accompanied our main dish, the Bhindi Punjabi Masala (a Punjabi classic okra dish).
To finish our meal in style, we sipped on espresso martinis which are a definite must order cocktail from their menu. We were very impressed with the quality of food and service at Natak and recommend sharing a few different dishes on the menu. A real gem in East London!
