Sunday Roast in Covent Garden
Pivot is a modern British restaurant from Chef Mark Greenaway which offers a delicious Sunday Roast in Covent Garden. It’s a cosy and intimate contemporary dining spot with high ceilings, beautiful artwork donning the walls, and fantastic views out across the piazza.

The menus focus on seasonal ingredients and the very best produce. However, Pivot reinvents itself every month with a unique ‘monthly-changing’ menu . This is a concept that reflects Greenaway’s wildly creative cooking style and passion for using the very best produce available and refined simplicity.
Lunch Menu
The Sunday lunch menu is simple – there are two starters, four main options (with two roasts – chicken and beef) and two desserts, as well as the option to add a cheese course or bread.
The starters were both fabulous. The Leek & Potato Velouté was mild in flavour and creamy, whilst the cheese straws were also light in flavour and crunchy. The House Salad with garlic crouton and house dressing was fresh and crisp with plenty of seasonal vegetables.

Main wise, the roast beef was perfectly pink-ish, succulent and so tasty with plenty of gravy to cover/douse the plate in. The pan roasted sole, which arrived in butter and with capers was light and delicate and absolutely beautiful in flavour.

All mains are served with a selection of seasonal sides. Pivot check all potatoes (looks and smell) to determine if they’re good enough for roast potatoes, or should be mash or chips. The roasties are cooked in duck fat, so crispy on the outside and beautifully fluffy inside. The carrots and cabbage with hazelnuts were great, but the peas and pancetta stole the show on the vegetable front. They were a la dente peas, served with artichoke and small pieces of juicy pancetta in a creamy sauce.

The Drinks
The drinks menu was relatively simple too, yet had plenty of choice when it comes to wine. There were soft options, liqueurs and digestifs, aperitifs, gin & tonics and cocktails too.
The Bramble Fizz (prosecco & blackberry liqueur) was sweet, light and refreshing; a delicious aperitif to start. The Forest Fruits Royale (red fruits infused with vodka and topped up with champagne) wasn’t too overpowering in fruit flavour – it was light, sparkling and just satisfied the desire for something sweet at the end of the meal.
Whilst we had been eyeing up the Vanilla Espresso Martini, we were advised it was best for those with a big sweet tooth – so decided to go classic, but with a twist… we asked if it would be possible to go decaf. Not only did they deliver, it was beautifully smooth and delicious, just like a classic one.

Summary
Overall, a superb spot for a Sunday Roast in Covent Garden. The food was fabulous, the drinks were fantastic and Chris, the manager who served us, was super friendly, attentive and helpful, making the whole experience unforgettable. They also offer tasting menus for lunch and dinner which can be paired with wine midweek and Saturdays.
