Before I moved to the area, I checked the range of takeaways in Bishop’s Stortford. Does anyone else do that?! My friend moved to a new area and didn’t check and it turns out that not many places deliver. She was devastated! Thankfully for me and the Bishop’s Stortford community, there are plenty of amazing takeaways. Phew.

11. China City
China City is the best Chinese takeaway in Bishop’s Stortford! This seems to be the general consensus from the reviews on Google and Tripadvisor. They are collection only and you have to phone through to place your order. On a Saturday I phoned at 5.15pm and managed to get a slot for 7.25pm – it’s busy!

We had sweet and sour chicken balls, sticky chilli beef, Malaysian chow mien, kung po chicken, seaweed, dumplings, prawn crackers, pork fried rice and duck with plum sauce which only came to £36! 2 huge dinners (and a small lunch) for 2 people. Bargain.
