Tacos in Clerkenwell
Nestled in the heart of Clerkenwell, Breddos Tacos offers a buzzing, top-notch taqueria experience. The founders launched the brand back in 2011 from a makeshift taco shack in a Hackney car park, drawing on their adventures across Mexico and now offer incredible tacos in Clerkenwell.
Tacos are the star here and come in 11cm pairs or 15cm singular ones:
- Birria de Res bursts with melt-in-your-mouth braised beef shin & short rib slow-cooked in guajillo and ancho chiles
- Baja Mushroom Habanero Mayo, verde cruda, pico de gallo
- Prawn Costra – Flour tortilla, cheese costra, arbol marinated prawn, spicy mayo, miso prawn broth, coriander
Totopos with guacamole are essential – chunky, fresh avocado with crisp corn chips makes a perfect starter.
On the drinks side, Breddos’ margarita menu is a highlight — classics, spicy versions with jalapeño tequila, frozen passionfruit, and more. You absolutely must finish with their legendary sticky toffee churros drizzled in sticky toffee sauce and date compote.
Service was friendly, the atmosphere was buzzing and the food was incredible. Breddos now also appears in Market Halls sites around London (Paddington, Oxford Circus, Victoria) and at Swingers West End.
