Cocktails in Bermondsey
The Last Talisman is an awesome cocktail bar in Bermondsey, situated just a short walk from London Bridge. The bar is from The Breakfast Group, who also run bars including 68&Boston, Opium and Burlock. There are several unique areas within the bar (it’s deceptively large!), some with bright artwork and others with oaky, industrial tones.
The menus at The Last Talisman are the creative work of Dre Masso & Tim Ross-Watson who have over 25 years experience in the global cocktail scene. The alcoholic cocktails are split into ‘awakeners’, ‘all day every day’ and ‘with a kick’ (starting from £9.50) and they also offer a selection of 6 mocktails (£6.50).
We tried the following cocktails from the menu:
- Wild Horses: Altos and Olmeca Blanco tequilas blended with smoky Vida mezcal, sweetened by hibiscus tea, damiana and cinnamon syrups, balanced with mixed citrus juice
- Cardinal Sin: Pink Beefeater gin, rosé wine, strawberry vermouth topped with touch of Prosecco
- Nohito: Lyre’s White Cane non-alcoholic spirit, citrus juice, mint, sugar and fresh apple topped with soda
- Nogroni: Lyre’s London Dry non-alcoholic spirit, Italian orange, Apéritif Rosso, served with an orange twist
They were all impressively mixed and the mocktails were the best I have tasted.
You can pair your cocktails with small plates from their Asian inspired menu. These include tempura, Korean fried chicken, skewers and mini burgers.
The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the bar has a relaxed yet sophisticated feel. Definitely a cocktail bar in Bermondsey to check out and sample some excellent cocktails.
