Accommodation in North Wales
With 10 locations over the UK, Forest Holidays is a prime destination for those looking to relax in a log cabin / tree house in the forest. We spent our mini-moon in luxurious accommodation in North Wales at Forest Holidays Beddgelert site in the Golden Oak Hideaway.
Built with couples in mind, they are complete with hot tub, log burner, a hammock on the decking! An extra special touch is the large, sunken bath, big enough for two!
The photos online didn’t actually do the cabin justice and it completely exceeded our expectations. The hideaway was more spacious than we thought, with a kitchen equipped with pretty much everything you need. There was also a dining table, a large living room area and a very comfortable bed. We loved the huge sunken bath which was a real bonus and the twin sinks and showers were a delight.
The best part of the hideaway (and all of the cabins) was the hot tub! Cleaned every morning (and PH levels checked) we loved having a dip every morning and evening.
Forest Holidays even provides a drinks cooler and plastic glasses which is well thought through. There is also a hammock outside and a gas barbecue, which obviously we decided to utilise.
Facilities on site
We ordered a Tesco delivery of food to last us the week, which was delivered right to our cabin. We cooked off a ton of meat on the bbq and spread it out across the week.
However, if you don’t want to cook or prepare food, Forest Holidays have it all covered:
Pizza Night Deal – 2 pizzas and a 500ml ice cream tub for £28
Burger Night Deal – any 2 burgers with chips, onion rings and a bottle of fizzy drink for £20
Feast for two deal – any 2 world mains, basmati rice and a selection of starters for £25
Book an in cabin chef
You can also get baked goods from the Forest Bakehouse including bloomers and baguettes (£2) and fresh pastries including croissant and pain au chocolat for only 90p. They also add some special goodies in your cabin to munch on!
You can also book activities through Forest Holidays from guided forest walks and rock climbing to horse rising and guided scrambling.
Although Forest Holiday breaks are not cheap (approx. £220 per night in peak times in Wales) it was such a great break. All staff were helpful, the cabin was absolutely gorgeous and the hot tub was divine. If you have any issues during your stay, you can visit the Forest Retreat in person or log a fault via the TV system (which also has useful FAQs). We look forward to visiting other Forest Holiday sites around the UK.
