Cabin with Hot Tub in East Sussex
UK staycations are here to stay, especially with so many beautiful places to visit in the country. One of these is South Downs National Park which covers an area of 1,627 square kilometres from Winchester in the west to Eastbourne in the east through the counties of Hampshire, West Sussex and East Sussex! We visited the most gorgeous cabin with a hot tub in East Sussex in the small historic village of Alfriston. This was the perfect base to visit some real gems in East Sussex including Seven Sisters Country Park, Lewes, Eastbourne and Brighton.
You can reach Alfriston Woodlands Cabins by car where there is an allocated parking space onsite as well as an electric charging point. The nearest train station is Berwick which is 2.7 miles from the accommodation or Seaford has more regular trains and is 4 miles away.
Alfriston Woodland Cabins
There are two woodland cabins onsite – Badgers Rest and Foxes Hollow – which were designed by a local award-winning architect and nestled in nature. They can sleep 4 people (two on the mezzanine level and two on the pull-out sofa bed). They welcome well behaved pets, usually dogs, but have had cats and rabbits stay too! Rates start from £170 per night depending on the seasons (off peak / peak) and the hot tub is an additional £50 per night with a minimum 2-night stay. More details on pricing can be found on their website.

The site is owned and run by Mandy, Darran and their son, Jake who are so friendly and accommodating and offer plenty of tips on the local area. They are available during your stay if you have any questions or need help with anything. We loved that the cabins were run by such a lovely family who have gone to a lot of effort to make everyone’s stay as wonderful as possible.

Cabin Amenities
Each cabin has the following amenities:
- Equipped kitchen with convection oven / microwave, hob, fridge / freezer, toaster, kettle and kitchen utensils, cafetiere, crockery, glasses (including plastic hot tub flutes!) and cutlery.
- Shower, toilet, sink with shampoo and body wash.
- Large king-sized bed on the mezzanine level with access via a ladder. Eye masks for the bright mornings (lovely touch) and hairdryer.
- Large L shaped sofa and wood burner.
- Table and benches.
- Outdoor deckchairs.
The cabin is so cleverly designed making good use of the space and containing everything that you need.

Alfriston Cabins also offer optional use of a hot tub during your stay which is situated just outside the cabin. It is wood fired, making it more sustainable for the environment and takes around 2-3 hours to heat up. It was so relaxing having a drink in the hot tub gazing at the stars and listening to nature.

There are additional extras you can purchase before your visit including homemade jam / chutney, freshly pressed apple juice from their own orchard, fresh eggs from their free-range chickens, Rathfinny sparkling wine and Long Man Brewery Beers. They also offer a firepit / BBQ including a sack of wood and accessories (including marshmallows!). You can cook outside under the stars, and maybe even use herbs from their small herb garden. Or hire bicycles and cycle to Cuckmere Haven, you won’t be disappointed with the view.

Overall
If you are looking for a cabin with a hot tub in East Sussex, Alfriston Woodland Cabins will meet all of your requirements! The cabin was secluded in the middle of the woods allowing a peaceful and tranquil stay. We loved the wood fired hot tub, particularly when paired with a glass of Rathfinny sparkling wine staring at the stars. There are plenty of wonderful walks on their doorstep, and on the South Downs Way route too.
In addition to the two cabins, you can also stay in their new Tentsile Safari Stingray tree tent and hammock within the woods. They have also just opened 2 Shepherds Huts in their orchard which overlook the Cuckmere River. The views are amazing!
