Brasserie in Chancery Lane
We visited the Chancery Lane branch which has a cosy, romantic ambiance and fantastic service. We started with the Moroccan Mezze Platter with delicious Harissa aubergine, globe artichoke, falafel with coconut cashew cream, houmous selection, pomegranate seeds, cherry tomato salad & flatbread (£7.95). The Wild Mushroom Tart with crisp puff pastry topped with pan-fried wild mushrooms, tarragon, parsley, chives & garlic (£9.95) was beautifully presented with a great combination of flavours.

The main dishes really impressed. The Truffled Lentil & Tomato Pasta Millefeuille (£12.95) with wilted spinach, white truffle cashew nut cream, balsamic reduction, pine nuts, almonds & roast hazelnuts was a hearty dish with the truffle giving the dish a deeper flavour. Whilst not a typical brasserie dish, the Hallomui Burger (£14.65) was one of the best vegetarian burgers we have tasted. It was served in a flatbread bun with lime & paprika mayo, guacamole, spiced mango chutney & skinny sweet potatoes.

Last up were two indulgent desserts – the Sticky Toffee Pudding (£6.95) and the Baked Apple & Calvados Crumble (£7.50). The former was served with cocoa, almond & citrus crisp, crème fraiche and crunchy nougatine. This was slightly different to the norm and added good texture to the dish.

Overall
Brasserie Blanc is an excellent French restaurant in London serving good quality dishes at reasonable prices. They also have an extensive wine list with wines available by the glass, carafe and bottle. Keep an eye out on their website for various offers throughout the year, including 50% off main dishes.
