As of 12 April, we can FINALLY eat and drink out again (albeit only outside). This is very very exciting! To help out with all your bookings, here is a list of pubs and restaurants with outdoor seating in East London taking bookings.
1. Barge East, Hackney Wick
Three childhood friends bought a 118 year old Dutch Barge transforming it into a beautiful restaurant and bar near Hackney Wick. They have a large garden area outside the barge that is accepting bookings with a street kitchen food menu and plenty of drinks.

2. Number 90, Hackney Wick
Number 90 Bar is a brilliant spot for drinking and dining ideally situated right by the canal. There is plenty of space on the terraces as well as their canal boats. Their food menu focuses on small and large plates and there are various offers throughout the week to take advantage of. Don’t miss their 2-4-1 cocktails on Friday’s either!

3. The Breakfast Club, Hackney Wick
The Breakfast Club are quite simply one of the best breakfast chains in London with both traditional and more eclectic dishes. This branch is situated in Here East right by the canal in Hackney Wick (near the Olympic Park in Stratford). Their Cornflake Chicken & Bacon Club with cornflake buttermilk chicken, hot harissa cheese, bacon, avocado, egg and jalapenos is just delicious.

4. Crate Brewery, Hackney Wick
Indulge in craft beer and pizzas at Crate Brewery terrace situated on the River Lea in Hackney Wick. The Middle Eastern Lamb pizza is very much recommended.
5. Balans, Stratford Westfield
Balans is a friendly neighbourhood restaurant with a large outdoor space on The Street in Stratford Westfield. The best part about Balans menu is their all day brunch. If you love American pancakes, these are a must order and you can choose between bacon, banana or berries with warm maple butter.

6. Sager and Wilde, Bethnal Green
Situated right by Bethnal Green is Italian restaurant, Sager and Wilde, with its large terrace area outside. They offer a fantastic £10 deal Mon-Sun 4-6.30pm which includes a glass of house wine or negroni + bowl of pasta. Their Paccheri wild boar ragù + parmigiano is recommended.
7. People’s Park Tavern, Victoria Park
The People’s Park Tavern is situated within Victoria Park and has one of the largest beer gardens in London. If that wasn’t enough, it also has an onsite brewery, bbq kitchen, pop-up cocktail bar and tap wall.

8. Arepa & Co, Bethnal Green
Situated right by Bethnal Green on Paradise Row with a terrace area at the front of the restaurant, Arepa is named after the classic Venezuelan food – grilled corn bread stuffed with different flavoursome fillings. Expect vibrant flavours and colours – I would recommend a few small plates and a couple of different arepas each.
9. Mare St Market, London Fields
Mare Street Market is a restaurant, deli and bar in London Fields with a large outdoor space. The menu focuses on small plates and main meals from the grill including padron peppers, roasted cauliflower and lamb chops. Their sourdough pizzas also sound pretty great with burrata and prosciutto, hot chorizo and plenty more.

10. Casa Do Frango, Shoreditch
Casa Do Frango is home to delicious Portuguese food and is tucked away in Shoreditch with an 80-cover terrace equipped with heaters, umbrellas and blankets. I recommend the charred cauliflower, piri piri garlic prawns and portugese meatballs plus, of course, the piri piri chicken.

11. Tapas Brindisa, Shoreditch
Brindisa is one of the best tapas restaurants in London with a gorgeous terrace in their Shoreditch restaurant. It goes without saying that you should get stuck in and order a selection of dishes – my favourites are their Croquetas de Jamon and Gambas al Ajillo.

12. Smokestak, Shoreditch
I hadn’t even realised that Smokestak had a terrace area so this is SUPER exciting. They have the best bbq’d meat and side dishes. The crispy ox cheek, pulled pork bun and beef brisket are simply delicious.

13. Padella, Shoreditch
Padella offers some of the tastiest and well priced pasta in London and their outside area in Shoreditch is available for booking. I’d definitely recommend trying as much of the menu as possible, including the ghnocchi with nutmeg butter and the Pici Cacio & Pepe.

14. Camino, Shoreditch
Executive chef, Nacho del Campo uses ingredients sourced from Spain to create and bold and exciting menu at Camino. The Jamon Iberico Cebo and Iberico meatballs are excellent.
