Japanese Restaurant in Liverpool Street
Shiro is a Japanese restaurant in Liverpool Street in Broadgate Circle from the Aqua Restaurant Group who own venues including Aqua Shard, Hutong and Aqua Kyoto.
The restaurant offers counter dining where you can watch the chefs prepare fresh sushi and sashimi and cook on the robata grill.
We tried the following dishes:
- Prawn and ginger gyoza
- Soft shell crab tempura
- Prawn tempura maki
- Fried cauliflower with shiitake XO sauce, coconut miso yogurt
- British lamb cutlets
- Teriyaki glazed chicken skewer | with spring onion
- Black sesame fondant with white miso ice cream
The highlights were the cauliflower (joint top cauliflower dish in London with Maresco), the chicken skewer and the sushi.
As well as the a la carte menu, Shiro offers set lunch dishes including ramen, curry and sushi served with rice / miso soup.
Overall
The dishes were full of flavour and the counter dining is great for seeing the action. Another great addition to Broadgate Circle, just a couple of minutes from Liverpool Street station.
