Bar in Bethnal Green
The Sun Tavern is an all day 1850s bar in Bethnal Green from the same people as Discount Suit Company. We loved the exposed brickwork, cosy bench seating and beautiful main saloon bar with light pendants hanging from the ceiling. The pops of blue and turquoise throughout give The Sun Tavern bursts of colour.
The bar offers 10 cocktails (1 sharer), London’s largest selection of Irish Whiskey, the world’s largest collection of Poitin (Irish Moonshine!) and plenty of local ales.
Cocktail wise, we had the following:
- Dewdropper: Bombay Sapphire Gin, Amaro Montenegro, Manzanilla Sherry, Melonade Agave (£8.50)
- Fu Manchu: Bacardi Cuatro Rum, Agricole Rhum, Nonino Amaro, Palm Wine, Citrus, Pistachio (£8.50)
- Farm Boy: Rocket Pisco, Hard Cider Sherbet, Club Soda (£8.50)
- Powers Irish Whiskey, Coffee, Demerara, Cream (£7.50)
The cocktails were nicely presented and creative in ingredients with a step away from the classics.
