Boutique Hotel in Rome

We stayed in Condominio Monti boutique hotel in Rome situated in the heart of the Monti neighbourhood. The word condominio in Italian means a grouping of people who vary in lifestyles and habits who choose to share certain spaces with each other. It inspired the concept of the hotel which was an apartment building built in the early 1900s.

We booked through Hotels.com using an 8% discount code and three nights was £434. However, it is also beneficial to book directly with the hotel as they offer discounts and complimentary upgrade and check out based on availability.

The hotel is located close to all the attractions. The Colleseum is a 10 minute walk and the Trevi Fountain and Pantheon are around 15 minutes. The location in the heart of the Monti district (which was Rome’s first neighbourhood) is an ideal location to stay given there is so much around the area. The only taxis we took were from the airport (€48 fixed fare) and to the Vatican (€12).

We were offered a complimentary welcome drink upon arrival at the Magasin Bar next door which included red wine white wine or Prosecco.

Double Room

We stayed in a standard double room which was decorated in a slightly art deco format. The bed was a large double, we had a walk-in shower and complimentary shower gel and shampoo. There was also a helpful kit of items including earplugs, shower cap, cotton buds and a nail file.

Rooftop Views and Breakfast!

One of the main reasons we booked this hotel was for its fifth floor rooftop! There is seating inside and outside and the terrace is perfect for breakfast every day. You can also enjoy a drink in the evening on the rooftop from the magasin bar next to the hotel or just with a bottle from the supermarket! This was such a great spot to sit and chill out in the evening.

Breakfast on the rooftop is included in the room rate and is served from 7 am to 10 am Monday to Friday and 7 am to 11 am on weekends. You can choose from an array of Continental and cooked selection. This included fresh croissants, cakes, cereal, a spread of Italian meats, cheeses and breads and bacon and scrambled eggs.

Overall

This lovely boutique hotel in Rome really gives you the personal touch. From the moment we arrived the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating and wanted to make sure that the visit was perfect. Alexandra and her team checked in with us daily and always made it very clear that we could ask any questions. They also give you their own personal map with recommendations and beautiful handcrafted postcards. Reception is also 24 hours!

Don’t forget you have to pay a tourist tax of 4 euros pn/pp which can be paid on check out. This boutique hotel in Rome is the perfect place to spend three days in a brilliant location with amazing staff. The roof terrace made it feel special and we would highly recommend a stay here!
